How to decide who to invite to your wedding

As a Wisconsin Micro Wedding photographer, I truly believe you should only be inviting those that have been a part of your relationship. Creating a guest list is stressful, so keep scrolling for a list of who not to invite to your wedding.

Who not to invite to your wedding from a Wisconsin Small Wedding Photographer

-Anyone you don’t feel connected to anymore

-A family member you rarely see

-A one sided friendship

-People from work

-People you’ve never / rarely met

-Parents friends

-Extended family that you don’t talk to much

-Anyone you’ve lost touch with

-Someone that hasn’t supported your relationship with your partner

-If you only see them when someone else invites them but they always decline your invites (iykyk)

-A plus one for someone that just started dating a friend recently (iykyk)

+ many other reasons…

Invite the people you love

You should only invite the people you love! Here’s who you should invite:

-The ones that you will love seeing in the photos 10+ years from

-People that won’t be self centered

-The person that has supported you and your relationship with your partner

-The people you text/ hangout with most often

-The people that make you happy

-Someone you whole heartedly miss/ want to see

-People you will be so excited to see

-Close family

-Friends that you would invite to a birthday / game night

+anyone else you feel like you really whole heartedly want to see / celebrate with on your wedding day!

I’m a big believer if they’ve been dating for over a year or live together they should have a plus one, if not they should not have a plus one, but this is totally up to your preference!

When putting together a guest list, make sure to account for plus ones.

Decide if you want kids there or not

If you don’t want children there, that’s totally up to you and you shouldn’t let anyone else say a damn thing to be honest!!

HONESTLY, this is yours and your partners wedding day, so do whatever the two of you want to do!

WISCONSIN WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

As a Wisconsin Micro Wedding Photographer, I believe you should only want to invite the people that actually want to be there to celebrate you. People are selfish these days and try to make other peoples weddings about them. Your wedding is about you and your partner and the people that have supported you and your relationship. If you’re having a parent pay, make sure to have a conversation about how involved they feel like they need to be in the wedding before hand.

Wedding planning should be fun, not super stressful!! Definitely try to add in a planner/coordinator in your budget if you can! As a Wisconsin Small Wedding Photographer, I recommend Redwood Weddings if you are in Wisconsin. They offer full planning, month of, and day of coordination. You can check out their website here.
