From the sand dunes, lush trails, Lake Michigan views, the gorgeous sunsets, and easy access, it’s really one of the most beautiful state parks in Wisconsin for engagement pictures. Lexy and Jack drove from Green Bay to meet me at Kohler Andrae for their engagement session and it was such a fun and relaxed photoshoot. They also brought their two cutie aussie dogs with them for some photos which if you know me I LOVE dogs, so it made their engagement session even better! #1 Reason You Need to Have Engagement Photos at Kohler Andrae

The number one reason you need to have your engagement photos at Kohler Andrae State Park is because of the easy access, the variety, and how gorgeous the park really is. During your session you’ll get sand dunes, lush trees, Lake Michigan views, lush forest trails, a boardwalk, and the beach. There is really no other location that gives you this same vibe. Lexy and Jack’s session is the perfect example of how gorgeous Kohler Andrae is for engagement photos.

Lexy and Jack are really one of those couples that make my job so easy. They were down for anything, every prompt I gave them, and really could be models. They drove from Green Bay to meet me at Kohler Andrae and it was such a fun and relaxed session. They brought their two aussies for a few photos at the beginning of the session before they waited in the car as well, which was so fun. They were so cute and well behaved. I love engagement photos with dogs!!

If you’re thinking about bringing your dog to your Kohler Andrae engagement session, I say do it! Kohler Andrae State Park is dog friendly and I think dogs just make engagement sessions so much more fun and real. Lexy and Jack’s aussies were so cute and well behaved and added the sweetest touch to their session. If you are planning on bringing your dog, just make sure they are on a leash. Unfortunately Kohler Andrae does require them to be on leash and they are only allowed on the North Beach or dog beach side of the park. About Kohler Andrae State Park

Kohler Andrae State Park is one of the best state parks in Wisconsin for engagement photos. The park is located right along Lake Michigan in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It is super easy to get to whether you are coming from Milwaukee or Green Bay.

Where is Kohler Andrae State Park?

Kohler Andrae State Park is located at 1020 Beach Park Lane in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. It is about an hour north of Milwaukee and about an hour south of Green Bay, making it a really convenient meet in the middle location for couples coming from different areas.

How Much Does a Photo Permit at Kohler Andrae Cost?

You don’t need an event permit for engagement sessions, just for weddings and elopements. All state parks do require photo permits in Wisconsin though, which is roughly $50. You also will need either a day pass or an annual state park sticker to enter the park.

Tips for Your Kohler Andrae Engagement Session

Download Your Map Ahead of Time. Cell service can be pretty spotty inside the park, so I always recommend downloading an offline map before you head in or knowing exactly where yo go that way you can find your way around without any issues. If you book me as your engagement photographer, I’ll tell you exactly where to go and send you a pin for the parking lot.

Grab Your State Park Sticker or Purchase a Day Pass. You’re going to need a Wisconsin state park vehicle sticker or day pass to enter Kohler Andrae. Wear Layers It can get pretty windy along Lake Michigan so make sure to dress in layers, especially if your engagement session is in the spring, fall, or winter. The wind can actually make for really gorgeous photos though so don’t stress too much about it!

Explore the Whole Park Don’t just stick to the beach! The sand dunes, the boardwalk, and the forest trails all give you completely different looks and backdrops. The variety is what makes this park so special for engagement photos!
