The Ultimate Wedding Tips Guide

Planning your wedding? Whether you’re going all out with a big party or keeping it cozy with an intimate micro wedding, you deserve a day that feels 100% YOU. Wedding planning can be overwhelming (trust me, I’ve seen it all!), but I’m here to make it easier with tips that will help your wedding day go smoothly. From choosing the right vendors to writing heartfelt vows, this guide covers everything you need to know for a stress-free, joy-filled wedding day in Wisconsin. Let’s dive into this Ultimate Wedding Tips Guide!

Choosing the Right Vendors

Your vendors are the backbone of your wedding day. Here’s how to find the best ones:

-Firstly, you’ll want to book early. Popular Wisconsin wedding vendors (especially photographers, planners, and venues) book up fast.

-Secondly, you’ll want to do your research. Read reviews, browse Instagram, ask for full galleries, and ask for recommendations.

-Thirdly, you’ll want to meet with them beforehand. A quick call or face time can tell you so much about their vibe.

-Lastly, you’ll want to trust your gut. If they make you feel heard, excited, and stress-free, they’re the right fit!

Build a Wedding Timeline with Buffer Time

One of the biggest mistakes couples make? Not leaving enough room in their schedule. A few extra minutes here and there will save you from feeling rushed!

Getting Ready: 3-4 hours (hair, makeup, getting dressed)

Hair & Makeup: Schedule at least 45 minutes per person (talk to your makeup team).

First Look: Add 30 minutes for sweet, candid moments, and in case anything runs behind.

Ceremony: 30-45 minutes

Family Photos: Plan for at least 30 minutes.

Cocktail Hour: 1 hour

Reception Entrance and Dinner: 45 minutes

Speeches: About 30 minutes

Golden Hour Portraits: You’ll want 15-20 minutes of that dreamy sunset glow!

Talk to your planner or photographer (aka me), they’re here to help you every step of the way!

Only Invite the People You Want There

Because, it’s YOUR day, not your mom’s, not your cousin’s, not your co-worker’s. Additionally, f you wouldn’t take them out for a celebration dinner, do they really need an invite?

Pro Tip: Keep it intimate. Because the smaller the guest list, the more quality time you’ll have with the people who matter most.

DIYing? Know When to Say No

DIY projects can add a personal touch, but don’t overload yourself! Stick to small, manageable projects like:

-Custom signage

-Personalized wedding favors

-Handwritten vows

Skip anything that adds stress (like making your own centerpieces the night before…trust me, it’s not worth it!).

Wedding Day Tips for the Groom

Grooms, you’ve got a few key jobs:

-Have the rings ready. Double (triple!) check.

-Stay hydrated. Alcohol is great, but don’t forget water!

-Take a moment for yourself. Sneak away for a breather before the ceremony.

-Write your vows before your wedding day. Seriously you don’t know how many times I walk in for getting ready photos and they’re still writing them.

-Break in your shoes before the wedding day.

-Get a well tailored suit.

-Have an emergency kit (breath mints, extra socks, deodorant)

Wedding Day Makeup Tips

Want to look flawless all day?

-Go with a pro. A great makeup artist will make sure you’re camera-ready and that your makeup lasts all night.

-Do a trial run. No surprises = no stress.

-Keep a touch-up kit. Blotting papers, lipstick, and setting spray are lifesavers!

Also, hot tip- start prepping your skin about 6 months before your wedding day! Facial, dermaplaning, moisturize, prime, tone, at home face masks, religiously face washing. Hydrate like crazy leading up to your wedding day (at least 1 week before)

Writing Your Wedding Vows

Personal vows are so meaningful, but let’s be honest, writing them can feel intimidating. Here’s a way to make it so easy:

1- Start with a personal story about your relationship.

2- Talk about what you love most about your partner.

3- Make a few promises (serious and lighthearted ones!)

4- End with a powerful statement, why you’re excited for forever together.

Wedding Day Emergency Kit for Bride

Every bride needs an emergency kit! Here’s what to include:

-Stain remover pen

-Fashion tape & safety pins

-Blotting papers

-Mini sewing kit

-Pain relievers

-Extra earring backs

-Snacks & water

How to Create a Perfect Wedding Registry

Your registry is a chance to set up your home and get fun, meaningful gifts. Don’t just list traditional gifts, consider experiences, honeymoon funds, or charity donations, too!
